Location: Iași (RO)
Built Area: 10 900 sqm
Stage: Technical Design
The project proposes a residential complex of approximately 9,000 sqm, located in the central area of Iași, on Bărboi Street. The building has a height regime of 2 underground levels + ground floor + 8 upper floors and integrates mixed functions: two levels of underground parking, a ground floor dedicated to commercial spaces, and eight floors of collective housing.
The ensemble responds to its urban context through a clear architectural composition, in which materiality and attention to detail contribute to a harmonious integration within the existing urban fabric. The residential volume is oriented perpendicular to Bărboi Street, following a sunlight study that guided the positioning of the apartments to face east and west, ensuring natural light throughout the day.
The massing is defined by the interplay between solid surfaces and generous glazed openings, which enhance natural lighting and create visual connections with the city. The façades are treated in neutral tones, using ceramic cladding and aluminum panels, supporting a discreet urban presence despite the project’s considerable scale.
A defining element of the concept is the integration of vegetation into the architectural composition. Green terraces and loggias break up the façades and generate a dynamic visual rhythm, inspired by the idea of a vertical forest adapted to the city’s scale. Through this approach, the project aims for a coherent insertion into a densely built environment, while establishing a balance between the demands of urban living and the desire to maintain a connection with nature.
